S&Ms

This just came up:
weaselmom and I have a favorite sweet snack, which we call S&Ms. Skittles and M&Ms. You mix them together (note how they feel the same...) and then eat them in handfuls in a dark movie theater. It's all about the surprise taste combination - you never know what you're going to get.

Try it some time. If you don't, think about why not.

That is all,
Chris

You also claim to enjoy sausages, wrapped in chocolate chip pancakes, and covered with maple syrup. Sorry, I'm not taking your food advice on this one.

And what's with that supposed "American favorite" of bacon waffles, drenched in maple syrup. Do we actually know anyone who likes it? Blecch.

Bacon waffles. Wow, I must give them a taste. Maybe not drenched, though.

But, but... I liked those when I was a kid! And you even tried 'em, I believe. And, like anyone who tried 'em, you could see the appeal, I'm sure.

I've seen him enjoy this particular dish. Ick! At least he left off the whipped cream that came with it.

*shudder*

Y'know, I'm having difficulty believing you're a pregnant person. This is the second item you've commented upon as unappetizing. Hmm... I bet those sonograms are just a cover.

Yup, and you should see the beer I've been going through for my huge beer gut!

You know, I can't seem to stop eating, but I'm not eating anything strange.

Aha! Beer! I shoulda known. Hence the sick-monkey icon, eh? I see through your plot. To what devious ends are you doing this I do not comprehend, but I shall expose your plans and save the city!

You don't dig chocolate? Good madame, you really must try some quality truffles or something! I can see not liking typical American wax-choco-food (tm), but a nice milk or dark chocolate? Mmmmm....

I ditto that, with the exception of chocolate gem donuts.

I'm not such a big chocolate girl, either. I like tart more than sweet, and savory more than either.

My brother and I spent our allowance every week on Smarties, because you got a ton of them for very little money, and we used them as currency for our stuffed animal kingdoms. The kingdoms were always going broke on Thursday or Friday, to be saved from disaster by a new influx of cash on Saturday.

Okay, I'm chiming in on the plus side here, cause that actually sounds good. I like skittles, M&M's & moovies...sos I'll give it a gogo and see what comes of it.

Like dipping things in ranch...because you just never know when there's going to be a party in your mouth.

Peaceout.

M&M's = good
Skittles = bad

Oh, this made me howl with laughter! I introduced them to my office, and the reaction was interesting. People rebelled at first and tried to pick out JUST Skittles or M&Ms. But I told them no, they would take what they were given, like it, and beg for more--that's why we call 'em S&Ms: some people think they're sheer torture.

My boss wasn't thrilled when he zoomed past on his way to a meeting, blurted out, "Can I have some? I'm late for a meeting and didn't get lunch!" and popped a handful in his mouth without waiting for an answer. A second later he came pelting back down the hall going "Oh my GOD! What IS that???" So in the interests of a positive performance evaluation this year, my boss is allowed to pick out only what he wants. But nobody else. Most people have gotten used to it now, and one guy gets all sad-faced when the bowl is empty and says, "No more crackberries?"

So to all you doubters, you don't know what you're missing. But fine, that just means more for me and Chris! :-P

You're absolutely right, the combination is sheer torture!
However, I won't take what I was given, like it, and then beg for more...yuck!

(I love you even though you like 'em).

I don't recall seeing you ever try them, now that I think back.... Can't despise what you haven't tried!

Ah, well. I guess that goes to show that you haven't seen everything.
I tried them a couple times. Always by accident... *grin*

::howling with laughter::

We call Cheezits "crack crackers" for that same reason.

I pass the hat to you, my dear, for introducing me - and now many other through your workplace and this LJ space - to this culinary delight. Good idea not torturing the boss with 'em, though....

S&Ms? It sounds experimenty. Be careful -- it's a slippery slope. Next you'll be trading vending machine snacks through a hole in the wall of Rest Area facilities.

Wow, I wonder if WM and I started a trend? She distributed them first at Norwescon, oh, 9 years ago or so.

I had them at a minicon, and the last time I went to minicon was a dozen years ago, so probally not. And I've seen them in unrelated groups of people so probally just a natural combination
