more post-storm photos

Want to see more of Lawrence after the storms?

Note that the tree is in two pieces: The part on the right used to be attached to the part on the left. This is in my alley, across the way and over one house.

These are all the (steel) parts I'll need to replace if I rebuild the carport. I'll also need to replace the top and most of the fasteners. Sigh. Luckily, the complex and expensive joiner-pieces are all intact (I found the missing one today).

Everything is still intact here, just feet from the destroyed carport. The wheel moved several inches, however; note that the rock has been rolled aside from the tomb (aka the coconut to the right of the wheel). On the thirtieth day, Sophia left her tomb and scampered across the land.

Jonquils amid the destruction. Here's my garden, such as it is.

Hope y'all're well.

Best,
Chris

So sweet about Sophia! Also the daffodils. Not so sweet about the carport, alas.

I recognized the writing! Isn't that something, that we can tell who writes in our LJs by their words alone?

Doh! I didn't know those pieces were yours. Sorry to hear about the carport. I like your userpic, though. Very homey. With the little motorbike out front, it looks like its ready to for someone to ring the doorbell: "Come on in!"

It's just stuff; the irritating thing is having to rebuild it _again_.

Yes, that's why I use that userpic! I took it last summer right before people started showing up for the Campbell Conference after-awards party.

Glad to hear you're fine and suffered only minor destruction of property. A carport ain't so bad, in the larger scheme of things.

How'd the university hold up?

So true. KU got hit pretty hard: 60% of the buildings damaged, millions of dollars worth. Fortunately (again), classes weren't in session on a Sunday, so no one got hurt!

The comment about Sophia made me LOL at work. And your flowers are pretty. Still, every time I read about or see pics of the tornado damage so close to your home, I get chills.

*g* Y'know, I get chills, too. So glad Tatsuko was fine.
