...and thanks for all the kind words

...about little Hammie-Boy.

Last night (rather, early this morning) when I got home from the office, out of habit I walked over to the gaming bookshelf where his little house used to perch. He loved to come out at night and roll around in this Ball of Speed Magnification™. I was so tired that I thought I heard him scuttling around in his nest. Instead of his cage, though, stands a candle burning in remembrance of him. That was both warm and sad-making.

Thank you for your well-wishes last week. The sympathy is much appreciated. It's nice to know that y'all don't think I'm a weirdo for falling for a short-lived guy like Hefner. Weird for lots of other reasons, sure, but hamsters are people too. Especially little guys like him, so kind and full of personality.

Chris

Last week I was in a fog
I think Roh said something about it, I vaguely remember it.

You have my deepest sympathy. Hugs across the e-ways.

I have had about 13 rats as pets, usually 3-4 at a time because they are social creatures. Out of that group, two of them were "special." They had great energy and tons of personality. I understand. They are with us for so little time, though. I also get having "pet habits." For months I thought I saw my cat out of the corner of my eye. I still watch the door to make sure no one runs out.

Terribly sorry for your loss...

Aww... I remembered that we forgot to express the luv/missing in person the other day. But then again, we didn't want to stir up sadness, when you seemed so happy.

You have our luv and best hugs.

And seriously.. steakies! Tell us when works for you both.. most likely after the Tday week, right?

My second daughter had a number of hamsters as a child, and each one had its own personality. We still talk about one of them, "Mumsie." She used to like to ruin around in the evening and visit, and if I had a glass of sherry, well, she'd just stand on her hind legs and take a dainty sip.

We understand your feelings for Hammie-Boy.

Loss of a furry friend is never easy and it is entirely appropriate to mourn. Give yourself a hug in his memory.

They are worth love. Inheritantly worthy.
