Tatsuko-hello

Tatsuko, basking in the heat

Tatsuko, being a cat, likes things hot. It's hot in Kansas in the late summer. I close the vents in the upstairs of my house in the summer, because why cool the parts I don't use? So it's even hotter up there, usually about 10 degrees cooler than outside. Tatsuko spends the majority of the afternoons in the (empty) upstairs bedroom, basking: Collapse )

1-year full-time position in English at Haskell

From the English Department email list-serve:

We have received word that, because of a retirement or departure, a one-year full-time position is open in the English Department at Haskell Indian Nations University. Continuing status after one year is possible, but not guaranteed. A quick search is being conducted, with interviews beginning Monday or Tuesday of next week. Applicants must hold an M.A. in English. An emphasis on American literature, especially combined with some interest in American Indian literature and issues is preferable, but not required, according to unofficial sources (we have not seen any official notice). 4-4 teaching load, courses ranging from Freshman composition to upper-division classes. Salary unknown, but, because of government involvement with the school, competitive. The search is being managed by Venida Chenault, Vice-President of Academic Affairs.

Best,
Chris
