Astro-image of the day: The Cosmic Horseshoe, a giant Einstein ring.

Check it out: This image shows one of the biggest gravitational lenses ever found. This object gives astronomers insight into galaxy assembly when the universe was 3 billion years old. The "lens" galaxy at the center is red and no longer forms new stars. But light from the more distant source galaxy is blue, indicating active star formation.
