Technical Communication program at KU

Hi folks -

So I finished a big revision to the KUTC site and would like to hear what you think of it. If you were a current or potential student, or someone interested in collaborating with us via an internship at your workplace, does this address your needs?

Thank you!

EDIT: Anyone out there have a nicer shot of the entirety of the KU campus that I could use for the index page? Or another idea for an image? Something funkier and less KU-ey?

Astro-image of the day: planet-forming disk

This image depicts a proto-planetary disk around a young star, the stuff that eventually forms planets. Unfortunately, this is a double-star system, and the big, bright star to the top-right is blasting away at the disk. No planets will likely form here. Big meanie.

help uninsured writers deal with unexpected medical costs

Just learned something neat about funding the Emergency Medical Fund for SFWA, the Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America organization: You don't need to be a member of the organization in order to donate to the EMF. The site has a donations page. It uses PayPal, so it's quick and easy - I just made a donation, and it only took about 10 seconds.

willshetterly writes, "I've let my SFWA membership lapse, but I hope to help the EMF until the US has universal health care." Help a writer without insurance pay for unforeseen medical bills by building this account (it's not a give-away but instead offers interest-free loans to those in need).

Good news!
