I will celebrate by listening to the cover to a song from my youth about the astronauts dreaming about green, green grass around their houses on Earth:

Today is also the third anniversary of the second flight of SpaceShipOne,which garnered it the Ansari X Prize.

and the third anniversary of the death of L. Gordon Cooper, the sixth American in space.

I shall honor these events by attending a lecture given tonight by Sergei Khruschev, whose father helped start the space race.
