The 2003 Nebula Awards were given out at the annual Nebula Award Banquet at the Westin Seattle Hotel in Seattle, Washington, on (April 17th). The winners are:
Best Novel: The Speed of Dark, Elizabeth Moon (Ballantine, Jan. 2003)
Best Novella: Coraline, Neil Gaiman (HarperCollins, July 2002)
Best Novelette: "The Empire of Ice Cream", Jeffrey Ford (SCI FICTION,
Feb. 26, 2003)
Best Short Story: "What I Didn't See", Karen Joy Fowler (SCI FICTION,
July 10, 2002)
Best Script: The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, Fran Walsh &
Philippa Boyens & Stephen Sinclair & Peter Jackson [Based on The Lord of
the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien] (New Line Cinema, Dec. 2002)
Also honored at the ceremony were Robert Silverberg, recipient of the
Damon Knight Memorial Grand Master Award, Charles Harness as an Author
of Distinction, and Michael Capobianco and Ann Crispin, receiving the
Service to SFWA Award.
