Where's my jetpack?

Right here.

Ever been driving home from teaching a night class and your car breaks down? Perhaps a bad driver pulls out in front of your scooter, wrecking both you and the scoot? Or maybe you just want to fly through the sky like James Bond. Here's your answer!

Now you just need to win the lottery to the tune of $86,000.

Thanks to james_nicoll for the tip.

Best,

How long a range does it have?

It's got about a 30-mile range on five gallons of premium gasoline. And it comes equipped with a ballistic parachute in case of "untoward airborne events."

Looks like they expect the price to drop down into the $30-40K range if there's enough demand for volume production.

Those 30 miles are about 100 times the range of Bond's jetpack!

Not bad, considering that previous true jet- or rocket-packs were pretty much ballistic missiles!

But will AAA tow it when it overheats?

Hm... no matter: Just get to an appropriate altitude, hit the 'chute, and coast home.

I always pictured jet packs as, well, smaller. Oh, right. Next year, they will be.

...and pretty soon, they'll be something we can just graft onto our thoraxes.
